House Crush ... Woodstock Retreat

Still searching for my ideal house on the web, I found this house on Houzz.com
A lovely, airy, very well designed house, nestled in one of my favorite places on earth, Woodstock. I love the clean lines and how the light fills up the space. Everything adds up to create a perfectly balanced home.
It was designed by Hall Smith Office in collaboration with CWB Architects in Brooklyn.

Tiny House

Interior Designer Jessica Helgerson has a lot of great projects in her porfolio. From a country house is the region of Burgundy in France to refurnishing a recently remodeled Brownstone in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, I am not surprised if she gets clients all over the planet. Her style is impeccable and she just topped my list of favorite interior designers. When a house attracts you, it doesn't matter if it's a large one or a tiny one. This is the case for this house and it's simply beautiful. It's only 540 square feet and was remodeled using nearly exclusively reclaimed materials. The story is long about this little house that was build in the early 1940's so I let you read it's story on Jessica Helgerson's website and for now, here are the pictures...

Beautiful East Hampton Home

Featured yesterday in the New York Times was this East Hampton home. A house with charm makes it so much more for me than the typical modern home with the latest furniture. This house in particular is full of it. An East Hampton shingle tract home that was purchased for $220.000 in 1966. Since family home to Ryan Gillingham, a writer for Apartment Therapy, the house even has a magnificent barn.
Enjoy the visit!

Bonne visite!

Mill Valley Cabins by Feldman Architecture

How many of us dream about having our own space? Either it is to work or to rest, we all need some peace and quiet at time. I personally dream that I could have my own studio filled with natural light and surrounded by trees. There, I will organize all my materials and be so productive. I am trying hard to make it happen...
Feldman Architecture is an architectural firm based in San Francisco. The firm's designs celebrate light- filled open spaces with a strong connection to the site and landscape. Do I need to say more?
Here in the Mill Valley Cabins, my dream came true.
